When Global Woodworking Excellence Meets Award-Winning Baking Infusing Flavor with Wood at WOOD TAIWAN 2026

Guests gathered at the “Savor the Grain” event for a group photo, enjoying a lively and cheerful atmosphere on site.

Taiwan International Woodworking Industry & Furniture Manufacturing Show (WOOD TAIWAN) is taking place from April 23 to 26 at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center Hall 1. As the world’s fourth-largest exporter of woodworking machinery, Taiwan not only demonstrates its robust manufacturing capabilities but also, through innovative curatorial approaches this year, successfully extends the industry’s value into everyday life.

Industry Meets Lifestyle: WOOD TAIWAN’s Cross-Sector Highlight

Among the exhibition highlights, the cross-industry collaboration event “Savor the Grain,” held on April 24 in partnership with world champion baker Wu Pao Chun, emerges as one of the most captivating moments of the show.

Breaking away from the traditional professional exhibition framework, the event extends “wood” beyond machinery and materials into culinary culture and sensory experiences. By blending artisan baking techniques with wood-inspired flavors, the collaboration creates a cross-industry celebration that fused industrial craftsmanship, artisan spirit, and lifestyle aesthetics, drawing significant attention from domestic and international buyers as well as media.

Jason Deng, Director of the Exhibition Department at the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), said that Taiwan’s woodworking industry has long held an important position in the international market, and wood is deeply intertwined with daily life. Through this collaboration with Wu Pao Chun Bakery, wood elements are transformed into a multisensory experience—allowing visitors not only “see wood” but also “smell and taste wood,” effectively bridging the gap between industry and everyday life.

Wu Pao Chun, participating in an international professional exhibition for the first time, shared that the spirit of wood has long been embedded in baking. From the fermentation environment and natural aromas to the warmth of handcrafted techniques, the principles align closely with the meticulous craftsmanship and quality dedication emphasized in woodworking. He also expressed hope that this collaboration will inspire more cross-disciplinary innovation.

The event featured a curated selection of wood-infused flavored breads paired with wine, offering a unique gastronomic experience.

Woodcraft Meets Baking Ingenuity: A Cross-Disciplinary Dialogue

A key highlight of the event is the exhibition-exclusive “Fermented Longan Bread Wooden Gift Box.” The wooden box is handcrafted by Taiwanese woodworking artisans, showcasing the industry’s superb processing skills. Inside, the box contains dried longan bread made with longan wood fire over six days and five nights, turning the scent of wood and the depth of time-aged flavors into a taste experience—perfectly illustrating the “from wood to table” concept.

The event features bread culture sharing, artisan demonstrations, and a lucky draw for the co-branded gift boxes. The lively atmosphere successfully adds a human touch to a professional exhibition while promoting industry networking and brand interaction, making it one of WOOD TAIWAN 2026’s most representative innovative cases.

The organizer stressed that this cross-industry collaboration not only highlights Taiwan’s strength as a major global supplier of woodworking machinery but combines a world-class artisan, expands the industry’s image beyond traditional boundaries into lifestyle and sensory experiences, and redefines the international trade show experience.
