Organized by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), Taiwan International Water Week (TIWW) 2023, opened grandly today at the TWTC Exhibition Hall 1. With more than 110 leading enterprises participating this year and utilizing nearly 200 booths, the exhibition not only witnessed active participation from domestic companies but also featured international exhibitors from 8 countries, including Canada and Singapore national pavilions. This exhibition serves as a platform for companies to discover business opportunities and expand their global businesses in the water resource sector.
For the first time, the opening of the exhibition was held in the form of a Water Tasting Event, allowing guests to not only explore the latest water-related technologies but also to taste and gain knowledge about water quality, creating a lively and interactive atmosphere.
Ms. Elina Lee, Executive Vice President of TAITRA, pointed out that the increasing frequency of extreme weather events due to global warming has put pressure on water resource supplies. According to a United Nations report, 2 billion people globally lack access to safe drinking water, and 3.6 billion people lack safely managed sanitation. Ensuring sustainable water resource utilization is crucial for public health, food security, and the protection of ecosystems in the face of global water scarcity.
To address these challenges, Taiwan International Water Week 2023 focuses on wastewater treatment and smart water technology, presenting innovative solutions such as recycled water technology, wastewater treatment, and smart water monitoring. Leading international companies, including Fluence, Veolia, AVK Valves, and Johnson Screens, participated alongside important organizations like the Water Resources Agency, Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), Functional Water Association of Taiwan, Taiwan Environmental Manufacturers Association, and Taiwan Fine Bubble Industries Association. Top domestic companies, including Sun Mines, Kan-I, Bright Sheland International, Pro-Uni-D, JNC Technology, Fluid Power, Water Technology, and GungDai, presented state-of-the-art solutions for industrial water treatment, water resource management, and end-to-end water purification.
In addition to the wide array of exhibits, TIWW Tech Talk technical sessions will be held from the second day onwards. Canadian and Singaporean exhibitors will share their wastewater treatment and water efficiency enhancement technologies. Moreover, the Taiwan Fine Bubble Industries Association will host the "International Forum on Applications of Fine Bubble Technology in Taiwan." The exhibition also features New Product Launches and one-on-one procurement meetings to help industry players stay updated on the latest water resource trends and market opportunities.
To assist exhibitors in expanding their international reach, TAITRA has mobilized over 60 overseas offices to invite foreign buyers to engage in one-on-one meetings with Taiwanese exhibitors. Notable buyers include IDEC Corporation, Clean Water Bulgaria, Industrias Islas, and Atlantium Technologies. This concerted effort aims to help industry players seize global business opportunities.
